Short Term Accommodation is temporary funding in your NDIS plan that covers accommodation costs during times of transition or change. To be eligible you must have a home you are moving into and you need somewhere to live in the medium term until those arrangements can be made, for example your home is receiving building modifications.

What is Short Term Accommodation for NDIS Plans?
Short Term Accommodation (STA) provides a temporary housing solution for participants who are transitioning to a more permanent living arrangement. For example, STA is helpful if you’re waiting for necessary modifications to be completed in your future Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) property.
Moreover, STA is often used when usual carers are unavailable or when a participant needs a short break from their everyday setting to refresh and return with a new mindset. Typically, NDIS funding for STA is offered as a one-time support, with stays ranging from up to 90 days or 180 days for hospital discharges.
