The Sydney Disability Expo was a powerful platform for connection, understanding, and progress. This year, we were particularly inspired by the opportunity to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

A Shared Journey
By participating in the Expo, we aimed to bridge the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians, fostering a deeper understanding of the unique challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with disabilities. We were honored to share our knowledge and resources with these communities, working together to create a more inclusive and equitable society.

Celebrating Cultural Diversity
We celebrated the rich cultural heritage and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Through interactive workshops, cultural performances, and informative discussions, we explored the intersection of disability and Indigenous identity.

A Commitment to Change
The Expo reaffirmed our commitment to working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to improve access to quality disability services. We believe that by empowering these communities, we can create a brighter future for all Australians.

Acknowledging the Traditional Owners
Oyster Care would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which the Sydney Disability Expo was held and pay our respects to Elders past, present, and future. We recognize the significant cultural and historical importance of this land and its people.
We look forward to continuing our journey of collaboration and understanding, ensuring that the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are heard and valued
