Bangang Daangang A Day to Honour This year’s Australia Day at the Creator Incubator was a resounding success, bringing together over 1000 community members to honour our shared heritage and cultural diversity. The day was filled with vibrant performances, engaging activities, and delicious food, creating a truly inclusive and joyful atmosphere.

The event kicked off with a warm welcome, followed by a captivating performance by Midnight Dreaming Studio, a local Aboriginal dance troupe. Featuring a mesmerising Aboriginal cultural dance by the talented young girls. The energy was further amplified by soulful song performance from renowned Aboriginal artist, Sharon Carpenter captivating the audience with her incredible voice.

Throughout the day, children and adults alike were captivated by a variety of engaging activities. Colourful tents were set up, inviting participants to unleash their creativity through painting and weaving workshops. These hands-on experiences provided a unique opportunity for intergenerational learning and cultural exchange.

No event is complete without good food, and the event did not disappoint indeed. A delicious feast of free meals and refreshing juices was enjoyed by all, fostering a sense of shared community and camaraderie.

The success of this event is be attributed to the dedication and hard work of volunteers, individuals and local businesses.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Midnight Dreaming Studio, Sharon Carpenter, Wanjun and Chloe for their captivating performances, and to all the volunteers who tirelessly worked to make this event a reality.

We believe that this Australia Day event has significantly benefited our community by:

1. Fostering a sense of unity and belonging: Bringing together people from all walks of life to honour our shared heritage.

2. Promoting cultural awareness and appreciation: Showcasing the richness and diversity of Aboriginal culture through performances and activities.

3.Empowering local artists : Providing a platform for local talent to shine and contribute to the community.

4. Creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere: Ensuring that everyone felt welcome and valued. We are incredibly proud of the impact this event has had on our community, and we look forward to continuing to strengthen our cultural ties in the years to come.
